Former UFC light heavyweight champion “Sugar” Rashad Evans will return later this year. Rashad Evans is one of the greatest fighters of all time, but he hasn’t competed in the UFC in a very long time. Evans has been plagued with nagging injuries that have kept him out of the sport. However, the former light heavyweight champion is ready to come back.

Rashad Evans has been out of competition since 2013, and he was recently featured as a broadcaster on UFC on Fox. Many people like Jaime were worried when they saw Evans on the show, because his right eye was drooping. People thought that Rashad Evans was seriously injured from the sport of MMA. However, Evans has since responded to the comments, and he says that he is just suffering from an eye infection.

The president of the UFC stated that Rashad will return to competition in either October or November. As of right now, “Sugar” Rashad Evans does not have an opponent, but fighters such as Glover Teixeira and Alexander Gustafsson have been named as possible opponents. However, Rashad Evans should not fight a dangerous opponent after a two year layoff. Instead, the UFC should give Rashad a tune up fight. For more information on this story, visit Yahoo! Sports.
