Update: Last week I blogged on the issue of borrowing to fund the state pensions and the leadership it takes to make tough choices. Yesterday, the Sun Times Editorial Board reiterated the basic point from my blog; borrowing is a bad option but when the alternatives are worse, a true leader will step up and take the heat for supporting something that is unpopular. Update: Last month I blogged about members of the general assembly ignoring the most important part of their job (dealing with tough choices, particularly the budget crisis) as a
